Lana's Story
Lana was a beautiful, young, pit bull dog who was rescued from a highway in rural Texas. She was found trying to eat roadkill from the middle of the road, and when she could not pick it up, she rolled in it.
She had spent most of her short life being bred repeatedly, and was seriously underweight when picked up. We had her for only 3 days when we placed her in boarding (being new to rescue, we did not know better). She contracted an illness at that kennel, and died a week later. She only knew freedom for a brief time, but she was loved, and since then, we have learned so much about keeping rescue dogs well and healthy. This fund is dedicated in her honor.
